Lavender & Berry Farm Blog

Update April 2014:  This place came back for 12 months and is no longer operating again. It's definitely a shame as it was such a popular destination in Pemberton.  There is still good trout fishing in the rivers and waters around Pemberton - if you want to fish, I'd recommend you call into the Pemberton Discovery Shop where you can hire rods, get a fishing permit and find out the best places to fish in the area.   It's great news to hear that Pemberton's King Trout and Marron Farm will be re-opening around September this year. Since their recent closing it has been a greatly missed destination for visitors to Pemberton. If you aren't familiar with the King Trout Farm, they offered trout fishing amongst a network of lakes on their beautiful scenic property about 5 km south of town. (It's less than a 10 minute drive from the Lavender and Berry Farm). They also have a cafe with a wonderful view over the property where you could have your fresh catch cooked for you and they also offered a selection of lunches. It's a great attraction and was particularly popular for families. I'm not sure if they guaranteed that you'd catch a fish but for our experience it would be almost impossible to leave empty handed. I know it's the most successful fishing I've ever done. Our son caught his first fish here too. It will be fantastic to have such a great attraction back in town again. We look forward to meeting the new hosts!
